WE DO NOT ACCEPT TOURING CARAVANS.
Shell Island is a family and couples only Campsite – NO BOOKINGS WILL BE TAKEN FROM GROUPS. IF WE SUSPECT YOU ARE A GROUP ON ARRIVAL OR JOINING ON SITE, WE WILL REFUSE ENTRY AND ASK YOU TO LEAVE OUR SITE WITH NO REFUND. WE CHECK ALL BOOKINGS AFTER EACH ONE HAS BEEN MADE, SHOULD WE BE SUSPICIOUS OR THINK YOU HAVE BROKEN OUR TERMS/CONDITIONS, AFTER OUR SECURITY CHECK, WE WILL REVOKE THE BOOKING AND ISSUE A REFUND.
Full payment will be due at the end of the booking, should you wish to proceed with you dates and information entered.
WE DO NOT TAKE A DEPOSIT ON THE FINAL AMOUNT.
We do not accept all male or all female parties. Parties of evenly mixed couples are accepted as long as there is a maximum of three couples.
You must have your own mode of transport. Families/Couples wishing to turn up on the train/bus, should phone before to check with us. Exceptions may be made. Maximum amount of cars per booking is 2. For 3rd and 4th car pass, a charge of £5 per car will be added to your account.
You may need to make a secondary booking. If more than one car has been booked, both cars need to arrive together in order to collect the carpasses/ wristbands.
The Booking is for the total amount of people that you have paid for. Extra people will NOT be admitted onto the site on arrival with your booking confirmation.They will need their own booking.
Shell Island is accessed via a tidal causeway road, which is subject to tidal flooding. It is up to the booking individual to check that the tide does not affect their holiday. Tide timetables are on our website and printable. DO NOT CROSS THE CAUSEWAY WHEN THE TIDE IS IN FLOOD.
On arrival to Shell Island you should come to Reception with your booking reference sheet, which is emailed to you after confirmation of payment.
Max of 2 cars per booking, extra cars will be charged at £5 each on arrival/online before carpasses are given out, on top of other charges you have paid.
All prices are inclusive of VAT at 20%. If the VAT rate changes the price will increase or decreased accordingly and the actual amounts due will be determined by the rate prevailing on the day your money is received.
For Summer half term (Whit) minimum amount of nights for bookings online for Thursday 31st may is 3 nights, Friday 1st June is 3 nights with only 200 pitches available on each day. Minimum stay for people paying on arrival (subject to availability) is 3 nights.
Saturday 2nd June minimum nights to be booked online is 4 with 100 pitchs available. There will be no allocation on arrival on this date, June 2nd, only online bookings.
For online bookings only, we accept bookings to arrive on any day of the week, with no minimum stay in low season, but a minimum required booking period of 2 nights on a Friday and 3 Nights on a Saturday between July 21st and August 25th.
For Thursday 23rd August, online bookings are a minimum of 3 nights or more.
For Friday 24th August minimum stay is 3 nights or more , and Saturday 25th is 2 nights minimum stay or more, both online and at Reception.
For Firework weekend the price per Adult is £8.25 per night and £3.50 per child on the Friday and Saturday nights.( October 26th 27th)
Oap rate (over 60) may apply during certain times (excluding Friday and Saturday nights, Bank holidays, Summer half term and Summer School Holidays) @ £5.25 per night per person and £31.50 per week per person.
Maximum amount of nights you can book is 7. Should you wish to add extra nights, just come to Reception on your last day that you have booked till. We will than add more nights on at our normal camping price as advertised under Camping Prices 2012 Pitches for each day will be limited ( Sunday- Friday, 250 pitches & 100 pitches on a Saturday) but will include all days that Shell Island is open for the season, including Bank Holidays. After you have booked online, you will still have to come to Reception for a carpass.
Once any "Online" date has become full, we will return to the tried & tested way, on a "first come, first served" basis as we have used in the past.
You may arrive for camping from 8am till 8pm any day of the week excluding Fridays which is 9pm. Should you turn up after this time, you will be put in a field next to the Security house and will have to move onto the main site the next morning. No exceptions. Pitches must be vacated by 3pm on day of departure.
Booking online does not guarantee a "specific pitch". It is up to yourselves to find a suitable pitch. Shell Island does NOT do a pitch allocation/ reserve site system.
Unfortunately, NO extra people can be added to any booking, once the booking has been confirmed and finalised.
During busy periods, Summer Half term, Bank Holidays and Summer School holidays, Shell Island operates a wrist band system, which must be worn at all times.
Please note: If we believe that you have left early (i.e. vacated the site with no intention to return before your departure date) we have the right to re-let your pitch. No refunds will be made for early departures.
There are a few fields where dogs are not allowed at anytime. Shell Island beach is one of the few beaches that dogs are allowed on, so please clean up after your dog.
Visitors to your pitch may come on site, after paying the daily admission fee, £5, between 8am till 8pm.
We politely remind you that once a booking is confirmed you have entered into a contract with us. Should you wish to cancel your booking it will be subject to our cancellation policy: The booking fee is non refundable, but, if you cancel more than 21 days prior to your arrival date we will credit the cost of your holiday to use against another time in the current or following season. (Booking fees are not refundable or carried forward; they contribute towards the cost of payment processing, and postage).
No refunds will be made for early departures with online bookings.
Failure to turn up on the Arrival day that you have booked, will result in that night's camping fee being forfeited with no refund being given from Shell Island. We may also give your space to another customer.
The Booking fee (£5) will cover your cancellation up to 21 days prior to the day of arrival. Shell Island will only refund if cancellation is due to any of the following: Death of an immediate family member (specifically spouse/partner, parents, children or a brother/sister - this cover does not extend to any other family members), serious illness or redundancy.
Cancellation has to affect one of the named members of the booked party. Please note that the claim must be in writing and supported by relevant documents (doctors note, P45, death certificate, with postcode and house name/number). We do not reimburse the cost of securing these documents.
Shell Island Camping Gift Vouchers CANNOT be redeemed via the online booking system.
Caravans/ Tow able pods & Jet Ski's are not permitted on the Shell Island.
Any malicious or unruly behavior will not be tolerated. In the event of such actions, the parties involved will be asked to leave immediately with no reimbursement. This is in the interest of all our customers being able to have an enjoyable holiday. The company reserves the right to terminate any booking at any time.
The proprietors disclaim all responsibility for any injury or damage to guest's property or to their person or to their children by fire, theft, water or any third party or by any means whatsoever whilst they are on site. This includes acts of God, natural disasters, weather, war, animals and insects. We strongly advise that you take out holiday insurance against such an eventuality.
The proprietors reserve the right to waive any particular conditions in individual cases or to amend or vary the terms and conditions as they may decide in their absolute discretion.
The proprietors reserve the right to refuse entry to any one they see fit, after a booking has been made, or after the individuals arrival on site, and if refused, give a refund. We will do our own security check with our own database.
The information supplied by you will be stored on a computer for the purpose of future marketing from Shell Island Ltd only. We will not forward any details to any other company. For the purposes of the Data Protection Act 1984 the signing of the booking form signifies assent to this.
