Llanbedr

        Llanbedr is the nearest village to Shell Island. About 2.5  miles from the island. Llanbedr  is not a big village,- population about 400. It nestles in the valley of the Artro, a smallish spate river, quite good for Salmon when in flood. Llanbedr is a village at the centre of the Ardudwy area. The bounds of the Ardudwy area are Barmouth in the South and Maentwrog in the North. Llanbedr has a number of notable interesting sites that are of particular interest to the visitor.
