Welcome to Shell Island

(Updated 06/07/20)Due to the situation with COVID-19 we have made the choice to remain closed for the foreseeable future until the UK Government guidelines tell us it is fully safe to reopen.

Due to this decision, we now have the task of cancelling bookings currently up to and including Tuesday 20th July. We are currently cancelling to this date and we will update for the bookings after this date as and when we have more information.

We will be emailing people regarding their bookings being cancelled over the next few days. Please be patient with us as this is not going to be an easy or quick task. We will be offering affected bookings 2 options, option 1 is a full refund for the total of the booking or option 2 is a credit note with an additional 10% of you booking total and extended to use within the next 2 years instead of the usual 13 months from date of us reopening. Please in the next 24hrs can you email us with your intentions, including you booking number so we can start this process off. Email: bookings@shellisland.co.uk please do not email unless it is reference to a booking during these dates.

All online bookings for this season have now been suspended, and if and when we can reopen them, we will update on our website www.shellisland.co.uk and our Facebook page.

As you can imagine again this is not an easy decision for us too take but we really do have to think of the health and wellbeing of us all, our staff and our local community in these worrying times.

We remind people that we are closed to all and no access through the site is allowed which includes walking, so please do not try and visit the Island until told otherwise.

Opening Update. (16/03/2020 Time 11:45am)

It is with regret that Shell Island has decided to delay the current opening date from Friday 20th March until Thursday 9th April.

This is not a decision as a family business that we have taken lightly, but we must think about the wellbeing of our families, our staff and you our customers but also the health and wellbeing of others in the local community. We must all do what we can to help prevent the spread of Covid-19. If our actions help to keep one person to stay fit and healthy, it’s worth it.

We will stop taking bookings online as from today until Friday 1st May and when we re-open, we will work on a pay on arrival basis up until 1st May.

If you have already booked for dates between Friday 20th March and Wednesday 8th April, we will automatically cancel and refund your booking (including the booking fee) in this coming next week, and send you an email confirming this in the coming days.

If you have used a credit note to pay for your booking your credit note will be reinstated from the date of cancellation for another 13 months.

If you have booked from Thursday 9th April onwards your bookings are currently still active.

If the situation changes we will update you all via Facebook or our website www.shellisland.co.uk

We will still be available for questions via phone or messenger during these times.

For those that have booked any of our onsite accommodation, they will be contacted directly in due course as well.

We thank you all for your ongoing custom and your understanding, and we will hopefully be back to business as usual very soon.

We ask the public not to park locally and walk onto the site etc, and signs will be put up at the end of the Causeway advising this.

We have had many storms on Shell Island, and we hope this one passes just as quickly for the UK and the rest of the world.

Our thoughts are with all that are affected by Covid-19 and their families and send well wishes to all.

We would also like to say a big thank you to all the NHS staff and their families, who are working extra hours in trying to contain but also treat those affected by his Pandemic.

Our next planned update on this situation will be Friday 3rd April.
