Crabbing Fun at the Harbour

Down by the tidal estuary and quay, families can spend hours of laughter-filled fun crabbing — it’s a Shell Island tradition! Armed with a bucket, bait, and a crabbing line, kids (and competitive grown-ups!) set off like they’re on a big sea adventure, determined to land the “catch of the day.”

The excitement builds as everyone returns with stories — “Mine was bigger!” … “I would have caught more if I hadn’t run out of bait!” It’s all part of the fun and memories made on the harbour.

And when you’re ready to take a break, you don’t have to go far — treat yourself to a refreshing drink or a sweet treat from Coffee on the Quay, perfectly placed for a well-earned pause while the kids keep fishing for crabs.
